CubeTrek's Privacy Policy
CubeTrek handles your data with care. This Privacy Policy provides you with information on how CubeTrek processes your personal data gathered on the CubeTrek website and through integration with third-party providers.
Personal information gathered by us means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.t may be used to contact or identify an individual. The legal grounds for processing personal data specified in this Privacy Policy are based on the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
Categories of Personal Data
CubeTrek gathers your email address, password and a nickname when you sign up for an account. The legal ground for processing your email address and password for this purpose is our legitimate interest in protecting the security of your account.
We also process your email address for the purpose of sending you important information about your account, such as important safety information or material changes to this Privacy Policy.
If you specifically sign up to retrieve marketing information, such as the newsletter, your email address will be used for such purpose.
You can add additional information to your profile, such as your location, types of activities, and a profile photo.
By default, your profile data is only visible to you. By making your profile discoverable, your nickname, profile photo and partial aggregate statistics will be publically visible. You can withdraw your consent any time by disabling the sharing option.
The Activity data
You can upload activity data (e.g. FIT or GPX files) by manually adding them or by connecting a third party account. This data is connected to your personal data explained above. By default, all activities are set to "Private", meaning they can only be viewed by you. By sharing the activity or changing your Privacy settings, your activity will be made publically visible (i.e. anyone which is in possession of the link can view your activity). You can withdraw your consent any time by disabling the sharing option.
CubeTrek can aggregate your activities and will calculate aggregate statistics linked to your profile. The purpose of this is to present you an overview of your past activities. This information can also be used by CubeTrek to analyze usage and develop or improve features and services.
Third Parties
CubeTrek can retrieve information from third parties (for example retrieving activity data from GPS Track and Device providers) if you connect your CubeTrek account to third party accounts.
CubeTrek does not share any personal and/or activity data with third parties.
Other Information
CubeTrek collects server logs, which may include information such as device IP address, access dates and times, application pages viewed, app crashes, browser details and other system activities. This information is not shared externally of CubeTrek.
Transfer of Personal and Activity Data
Personal and Activity data is collected and stored on a server in Germany. As CubeTrek is being developed in Switzerland, personal and activity data might be transferred across these two countries.
Children
Cubetrek requests that individuals under the age of 16 do not provide personal data. If we learn that we collected such data, we will delete the information as soon as possible.
Retention of Data
The data will be retained as long as your account is considered active. CubeTrek may suspend your right to access to the service if you are using the service in an abusive way (as determined by the sole discretion of CubeTrek).
